In Uniform
Dressed sharply, broad, and tall,
He stood there amongst us all.
Covered in tan and gray from head
to toe,
Finally ready to meet his foe.
Gun in one hand, bag in the other,
Saying goodbye to his family and
mother.
Trying so hard not to cry,
But he knows he has to say "bye".
I hope the day will never come
where I will sit and mourn,
Because I believe he will come
back, in uniform.
