Security Blanket
Insanity
That threadbare blanket
I wrap myself in it
Wanting,
Warmth
Expecting,
Comfort
But never receiving it
I walk down the street
What’s wrong with her?
They ask
Look at her
They say
Look at that blanket
It is the cloak
The shroud
Of insanity
I wind it round my shoulders
Tighter
And tighter
Never letting go
Slowly strangling myself
With the moth eaten cloth
Yet still cold
Still freezing
Not feeling
Not seeing
Always wrapping myself in the blanket
Only to get tangled up
But insanity
Is my blanket
It is my blanket
And I cannot
Let
Go

Duct tape is like the force: it has a light side, a dark side, and holds the universe together.
