Not Just Another
We live in a world so big,
With people all around.
Trying to make themselves heard,
Above the raging sound.
We know we have to rise above,
And be examples true.
It's a job for everyone,
For me and for you.
It isn't always easy,
It isn't always fun.
But heed these words and live them,
And regrets you will have none.
Don't be just another person,
Who doesn't really care.
Don't be just another deadbeat,
Who's not going anywhere.
Don’t be just another stranger,
Who won’t lend a helping hand.
Don’t be just another copycat,
Who’s like the leading band.
Don’t be just another cutter,
Who couldn’t stand the pain.
Don’t be just another jerk,
With nothing to lose, and all to gain.
Don’t be just another sibling,
In word and in blood.
Don’t be just another thief,
Whose name is dipped in mud.
Don't be just another student,
Who's happy to get by.
Don't be just another realist,
Who knows that he can't fly.
Don't be just another pretty face,
That hides a cruel heart.
Don't be just another bully,
Whose words pierce like a dart.
Don't be just another faker,
Who hides behind that mask.
Don't be just another coward,
Who's too afraid to ask.
Don't be just another gamer,
Who lives in make-believe.
Don't be just another drunk,
Whose life is all reprieve.
Don't be just another player,
Who doesn't know true love.
Don't be just another falling star,
Who left the heavens up above.
Don't be just another monster,
Who steals happiness away.
Don't be just another sloth,
Who cannot seize the day.
Don't be just another gossip,
Whose words are never true.
Don't be just another peasant,
Who knows his blood isn't blue.
Don't be just another loner,
Who's scared of what could be.
Don't be just another blind man,
Who cannot see beauty.
Don't be just another stuffed toy,
Who's played with then forgotten.
Don't be just another sad man,
Who walks around down-trodden.
Don't be just another hypocrite,
Who cannot see himself.
Don't be just another boring book,
Who lies forgotten in the shelf.
Don't be just another pessimist,
Who knows he can't save this place.
Don't be just another man,
Who never tried the race.
Sounds harsh, doesn't it?
Well, that's the truth for you.
What you do with it, however,
Is all up to you.
I don't know about you,
But I'm not just another.
And neither are you, your mom,
Your dad, your sister, and your brother.
