Missing Walrus
Oh Walrus, or carpenter as you meant to be called;
a man never afraid to be hated or to fall.
You never stopped speaking and always were gentle,
except when attacked by those known as mental.
Your bellow was heard for miles and miles,
inspiring hope, freedom, and smiles.
We need you now, perhaps more than ever,
for you were so brave, so sane, and so clever.
But your value was not seen only by us;
they wanted your hide and those ivory tusks.
Your warnings in song, we finally heard,
and came to your aid like a faithful herd.
But when you needed us most, we were not there;
this horrible loss we will forever bear.
All you were saying was “give peace a chance,”
and all that they thought was enough of this dance!
