Almost Paradise
My family is Hawaii
mixing extremes yet working in complete harmony.
My mom is the volcano sitting quiet and calm
ready to erupt at a moment’s notice, but improving her island with new land which will be beautiful one day.
My dad is the ocean waves lapping gently on the shore,
calm, supportive and comforting to any that need it,
My older bother is a local,
relaxed and friendly, while also serious and hard working,
My twin brother is a tropical storm,
slightly self destructive, but keeping the islands alive and thriving.
And I,
I am the bright Hawaiian sun,
Beating down warmth on everybody’s skin; keeping all happy and comforted; and happy to be doing so.
