You're Gone
Grandma why’d you have to go
For all the pain and sorrow I felt when you left no one will every know
When I think about you I try so hard not to cry
But I keep asking God why and why
All the days of your suffering are long gone
Now I’m going to cheer up because I know you’ve moved on
You’ve moved on to that better place
I’m so glad for you, you just can’t tell by the expression on my face
Grandma, I look at all the pictures of you and I and I see how much fun we’ve had
But at the thought of you being gone makes me so sad
You’re gone, and I can’t seem to get out of my mind
And how you were so loving, caring, special, and kind
I don’t think any one can understand the relationship we had, grandma and grandson
In the fight with cancer … I think you won
Even though you’re gone, you’re now with the Lord
While I’m stuck on Earth without you, now being bored
It seems like you’re sitting in your spot rocking your head back and forth
Even though you’re gone, you’re still in my mind for what its worth
Now that the poem has come to an end
I just want you to know I’ll be writing you again.
