You
It's not the same without you, Shadow.
You've understood my love for the darkness,
You believed in blood, you had faith in tears,
You wanted me for who I was;
An emo girl with a broken life.
You knew the reason behind the scars,
Embraced my wrists and their distorted skin,
Caressed the veins I've come close to splitting,
Kissed the crimson forever flowing.
All in simple words, Shadow,
You've shown me care when no one else would,
You made me smile through growing sadness,
You've broken my habit of relief in crying.
It's you who helped me leave it behind,
It was you who convinced me to try to survive,
It's you who ceased suicidal thoughts.
It's you I would spill my heart to,
And you who kept it safe for me.
Shadow, why did you go?
The gun had rested in your hands,
Hands meant to hold ruined lives.
You stroked the cold, unforgiving metal,
Held it to your frayed mind;
With a simple movement it all ended.
An ear-splitting noise and a shattering scream,
You took away the one thing I wanted.
My Shadow.
Just an emo boy with a broken life.
