Pair of Wings
I had a dream last night.
That you had a pair of wings.
But, you couldn't fly the way you liked.
Because they were broken, tattered and beaten.
And I tried to heal your soul
with my nearly shattered heart.
But, in my plan there was a hole,
I should have seen from the start.
You and I were the same,
but different to the core.
And everything drove us insane,
until we could take no more.
I awoke with a start
and with tears in my eyes.
I wondered how to heal your heart,
but all that came were sighs.
How could I touch your soul?
What could I bring,
when you were so high up.
How could I break down this wall?
And then, I realized one little thing.
I would need my very own pair of wings.
