Insomnia In The Morning
It's morning now,
And a pale blue is seeping through
the curtains. But
She's still up and all alone in
this empty room.
She want to sleep,
But the slumber slips from her thoughts
As new ones take
Over, trying to keep her from
Seeing the dreams.
The birds are up,
Singing cheerfully after a
long nights' rest. They
don't realise how
Wonderful it is for them to
Not have the mind
Of a human such as ourselves.
She feel jealous
Of other creatures who can just
Shut their eyes and
Drift away into their own world.
But this is her.
The one who studies everything.
Who refuses
The help of other minds and spirits
Just so she can
Not be so alone, with her thoughts
To comfort her.
