The eye of the storm
October 13, 2011
Whirling wind laces up,
gaining momentum.
The downpour
of the painful rain
drives me harder.
As arms flail, streetlights flicker
and sweat puddles on the ground.
All seems calm in the eye of the storm.
The finish line draws near,
the storm dies down.
Time to dry off and recover.
