Why Doves Cry
I miss you,
and I can't explain why,
there was nothing of you,
worthy of my time.
But we can't explain,
why the doves cry.
Such a beauty that it's a shame,
no one even tries.
Nobody gives a damn,
or bothers to lend a hand,
so the purest of life,
withers away in slow time.
I gave my heart over,
you took it without hesitation.
Now that my mind is sober,
I wonder why you'd waste it.
And still we can't explain,
why the doves cry.
I'll ask one more time,
what is it that I missed,
that lets them walk away,
from a creature that deserves,
absolutely no pain?
We all do what we can't explain,
then cry and fight the decisions we made,
and then when we collapse in exhaustion,
we pray that we will soon be taken.
We can't explain,
why the doves cry,
or why every time,
people just wander by,
letting the horrors,
in that beautiful life,
continue uninterrupted,
as the dove dies.
