Darkness
The dark that calls to me
Beckoning
Belonging
There is no other
No hopes to believe
No dreams to compare
Just thoughts that surround
And suffocate
Just words who torture
Who hold it captive
Those words that deprive its very being
That banish its existence
Cuts that go deeper
That go farther
Sleek, silver movements
Unknown
Unnoticed
Stealthed in the night
Hidden by memories
By the pain to forget
By the pain to remember
Forever falling
Forever waiting
The light in the dark
The hand that pulls you in
The dreams that keep your life
Wishing it forgotten;
But holding it close
Reaching
Hoping
A voice pulling you out
The dark you once believed
The dark you once trusted
The dark that was
Gone
