Final Battle

November 9, 2007

The sweet aroma of finally winning
rolled through the air as he
flashed his sinister look
across to the person
who knew him best.

They turned out to be
Far better enemies than
Friends
Knowing what the other
was plotting.

Heads held high
shoulders back
heads snapping away.
When they’ve made
quick eye contact.
Giving the cold stare behind
One another’s back.

Once they could tell
Their midnight stories,
Their hearts biggest wishes.
But
circles do end,
bracelets do tear,
friendships slip sadly away.
