Let the Show Go On
Suffer in silence,
Submit to violence.
Don’t wish, don’t dream,
Because things are closer than they seem.
Stay quiet,
Forfeit riot.
Just hush,
No rush.
No hero,
Ground zero.
Don’t speak,
Too weak.
Go ahead, just die.
As here we lie.
We laugh,
Smile,
Talk,
Live,
Love.
Blissfully blind,
Left you behind.
How happy we are,
Ignoring the scars.
We kill,
For the thrill.
Yet we don’t die,
We lie.
Turn your head,
Go back to bed.
As we do.
Always do.
As you fight,
We waste sight.
The sun looks down,
The moon frowns.
We aren’t meant to be this way,
Wasting away each day.
Take over, control.
Weep and console.
Just look away,
Whatever you say.
Keep walking,
We’re talking.
Let the show go on.
