The Ashes Left Over
The dying sun leaves little
Warmth to bring alive the nickels
That could halt my heart from turning brittle
If only at first, it wasn't so tickled
By the temptation of clean, fresh love
That did nothing to rescue the day
Leaving me alone and misplaced
As I burn out the presence of your flame
Departing me tired with no home at bay
