The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams-Eleanor Roosevelt

Rusty fall leaves settle on my head
As the orange barn cat slinks around
The day is falling towards sun-set
But I choose to lay on the ground

The dying grass is cold on my skin
As I breathe in the crisp night air
The clouds above are starting to thin
So I can decide what's up there

In the dark whispers appear
Blowing through the winds dark path
Questioning why I am here
As if I don't belong to the land

But my stubborn mind is rooted down
Like the land my forefathers have lived
But questions stir up feelings of doubt
Debating over what have I given?

A coyote's howl rings throughout
It's judging din lowers self-esteem
But I'm not the one screaming out
From perplexing pain of who loves me

Do I really belong to this place?
And bring my own to my generation
All I do is imagine an oasis
That comfort my compelling temptations

From the dimness comes a light
A choir of angels must have appeared
From the shadows I see at the sight
Of my mother standing there

Her voice echoes out my name
I'm reluctant to go inside
Because of this overwhelming shame
That threatens all my pride

"You've been out here a while."
She beckons me towards the house
As I approach, I see her smile
Vanishes immediately are the doubts

As if from the cold, I am fragile
With her arms she wraps me up
A gesture so strong yet so casual
And instantly I know I'm loved
