It's not quite right
Something should always go bump in the night
I've felt the heart beat
While it sat in the palm of my hand
I've known the truth of deceit
And tasted the world's salts that were just too bland
I've seen the fallen come back
And torture those that stand
I've heard the tree fall that did lack
The strength or power to stay in the land
I've built a house on the mountain top
And saw it fall away
I've made time stop
It's my simple trick of the day
It's my own mental society
Call me the omniscient being
And help me calm this anxiety
That I try to keep everyone from seeing
