Wooly Memories
Constantly counting sheep
Trying to feel the kick
To escape from this inception dream
And awake from this drug induced sleep
Wipe the mud off my mental stick
And gain new thought with the highest esteem
A new idea that starts with a peep
And just like venom it's given with a prick
And just as water changes to steam
I'll dissipate my friends and denounce them to sheep
Shave their wool till I'm sick
Knit it into a memory stream
Build houses beside it and sell them for cheap
Building the foundation out of cardboard brick
Sailing down the creek and basking in the itchy gleam
And just as the water changed to sheep
The steam will envelope a ghostly tick
And make me forget how reality did seem
And the new idea will slowly begin to creep and slowly begin to pick And emit its own steam
Shave the wool off the sheep
Sell their memories for cheap
I'll dissipate my friends and count them to sleep.
