Dear Poetry
You make me feel as though I have wings,
To sore high up in the sky.
You make me feel so stress free,
And for that I’d like to thank you please.
Poetry is the song to my soul,
The thumping of my heart.
It’s a foreign language to most,
A secret code they just can’t seem to unravel.
It’s a way for me to express my every emotion,
In a way that’s mysterious to all around me.
It’s a way for me to be me;
A means for me to be free.
So I’d like to tell you now,
That I love and adore poetry;
For it is my best friend,
My soul mate,
My love,
And always there for me to depend on.
It will stick with me for all of eternity,
For it isn’t something I can part with very easily.
Poetry will always be a part of me.
It lets me dream without sleeping,
And tell the world in my own personal way,
I am me, so don’t go trying to change me, please.
