Sun and moon
I wonder what would happen
if I took the sun away.
Would the moon light up,
or just go away?
Would its tears
fill up the ocean?
Would it make me
drink a potion?
With out the sun
the moon would freeze-
freeze colder then
Alaska Breeze.
The sun would cry,
and melt away
everything we
try to save.
All night long
and through the day,
their words would be enough to say,
“give her back,
take her away,
We didn't want her anyway”
So off she'll go
to a distant place,
way beyond
time and space.
The frozen moon
would be UN-thawed.
Then drift off
to a distant pod.
And sit and wait
for years to come
thinking,
he'll only be missed by some.
He'll wait for her,
she'll wait for him,
never will they meet again.
But, in this sad and derious tale,
cames true love
to sale.
The sun
found a moon,
who,
hadn't frozen up too soon.
He lite right up
all bright and new.
But, here on earth
we knew.
She'd never forget-
forget the other moon.
No,
she wont forget him soon
the sun grew old,
and so did moon.
Their baby sun
will be back soon.
She went up close,
and melted away
the ice,
to see what lay.
Deep within
she saw afar
and said
“this is no star
it was the moon,
all dull and gray.
As she turned,
she heard him say.
“is she happy?
Is it true?
Did she have you?”
as she nodded
his dry lips smiled .
“good” said the moon
she now dust had piled.
Sun told mother
who froze the moon.
And hoped never to feel the pain
until another noon.
