The Eye

The world, as I see it, is an eye
Filmy with questions, deceit, a lies;
Its ray shines black as it cuttingly bores
Into your own, bleeding at your core;
Fiercely gazing back doesn’t distress
The fierceness of its displayed blackness;
A spark lights and the iris flames
Frying the deceit, continuous blame;
Behind the surface, the eye dies
Cringing as it rots in the midst of lies;
It slowly wastes away in its pretense
Melting in fear at its own expense;
I sit calm, and gaze at the becoming,
Of the eye that perishes into nothing.

What inspired me to write this poem is how familiar the world is with being like each other, and looking upon those who are different with a dark, blaming eye. I wanted to stress the importance and significance of individuality.
