Storm
A rescue is needed,
Someone’s life is on the line.
Being pushed back and forth
Nature is against me.
Filling the boat with water,
There is one last chance to call my daughter.
Every strike of lightening,
I can feel my arms tightening.
A job like this,
Makes you think why,
Nature could be so cruel,
Attempting to take so many lives.
One hundred feet off land,
There is no turning back.
Time slipping away,
Wondering if everything will be okay,
I can feel time falling through my fingers.
Hearing a harsh scream
From nowhere to be found,
At times like this,
I wish my feet were stapled
To the ground
