Ode to My Sparechange
The ocean of my pocket
OPEN and widely empty and
full
The death of humanity
on these pieces of
hard metal
Savage beasts feast
on my pocket as if
starved for centuries
Patient lions that have
earned tactic, and skill
after scrutinizing prey
Ugly bears maul after
my pocket of hard metal
with complete disregard
My life means nothing
compared to these spheres
of inevitable doom
The shallow pool of my pocket
CLOSED and short and
round
The death of my God
on these worthless pieces
of metal
Raw transition metals worth
more to man than the
Gold-paved streets of heaven
Patient are the creatures
that think they have
learned how to fool God
Ugly monkeys that maul
brethren over a small piece of banana
with large amounts already on their person
My life is surely
wasted on these spheres
of unending doom
These spheres, called my sparechange
