This Girl I Used to Know
I used to know this girl,
Many things didn't affect her.
Boys, opinions, grades, nothing
She had no expectations for people
They lead to disappointment she’d say.
This girl is always so happy,
Loves who she is,
Loves the world,
Loves everyone and everything.
She is bubbly,
And always, has a positive outlook on life.
This girl has changed
Cutting everyone off, walking away from everything,
She no longer cares.
Stabbed in the back, by people she called friends
She walks down this road,
Alone.
People say it’s a choice,
Really it’s not.
She is trying to heal herself.
Amongst all the disappointment
Depending on nothing,
Except her strength.
