Trying to Understand You
I'm afraid to talk to you
you say cutting words
and they slice my heart
already battered and worn
from the past
you're angry
I'm sorry
it's time to move on
but you refuse to
while I still stand here, open
even half a year later
you haven't let go
you ignore me
you glare at me
and I don't know what to do
I'm trying to fix this
I've tried really hard
but you refuse to cooperate
'cause you can't move on
even if it's not a question of forgiveness
can't you just be trustworthy again
even though you never said you hated me?
you said you weren't angry
and that you were just annoyed
but your words don't sound like it
I embarrass you
I creep you out,
I think too much about you
and try to talk to you too much
that's just the way I am
can't you see that this hurts?
can't you see that it's breaking me inside?
the demolition is painful
but only you can fix it
yet you refuse
I don't understand
that aspect of you
I used to
but the others I do
for now, I'm left in the dark.
