The Sun is Now Shining
The icicles hung from my window
Drooping in despair
Kind of like how I melt
Away because there’s no repair
For this heart that has been broken
One too many times
The silence of his presence
In too much of a prize.
She left me here
Knowing that I would cry
She said she loved me
I thought she really cared but
Soon I realized it wasn’t so
She left because she loved
Someone else more
That person was God and only He
Deserves that love more than me
So now she is there
Up there with God Himself
Watching my tears
Shed over her grave
Her last words
Made me pray
She had said to me
on her last day
“I love you honey,
But it is better this way.”
The day she left earth
And entered the heavens above
The sun shined on the exact spot
She was buried
Which made us guarantee
She was in a better place
Than both you and me
