Living on the edge

Thriving for the thrill

Fingers crossed I pledged

It's like an addicitve pill

Closer and closer I get

Exposed to the danger

Never a need to fret

Only my sould to wager

3rd degree burns from adrenaline

Taking the road less traveled by

Adventure comes with the wind

Sound forth a battle cry

Secrets flowing in eel-shocked rivers

So dark and deep, I shiver.

This is written with the look of a sonnet, but doesnt follow the rules for one. :)

Your poem captures the youthful spirit rather accurately. It reminds me of how I felt....young and the world ahead. Please keep sharing these feelings in words, it helps those of us who have grown weary and wary to remember what feelings flow through the youthful heart.
