A New year

A new beginning

A new me

Is beckoning.

New Years resolutions

That no one keeps

"Maybe this time"

Yah right- says me

New goals and plans

New places to go

New memorable times

Made down Happiness Road.

A new year

Brought in with cheers

Regurgitated confetti

With a "pop" appears.

Horns are blown

And clappers clapped

May I have my chapstick?

My lips are chapped.

A new year

Came in on the countdown

Just a bunch of Mormons

Who will rock this town!

This is a time

To take new views

To be on the way

To be a better me and you.

To be more kind

Or eat less chocolate

To be more mature...

Wait, what?

A new year

Is the sign of rebirth

A time to start fresh

Living without regrets.

New new new

That's what it's about

New new new

It makes me want to shout.

Different, change

All mean the same thing

When what it does

Is happiness bring.

Maybe this time

I can stick to my goals

Tha's a slim chance

As you and I know.

Maybe it will be different

Maybe things have changed

I need to take my priorities

And have them rearranged.

A new year

A new fresh start

While staying true

To who you are.

I wrote this after a church dance after New Years, at around 2 in the morning! :)
