The Willow That Never Wept
And though the Willow ‘s wisped away,
I can still feel it in the dust-
I can hear the echo call
Despite the Cavern’s rust-
My heart once flitted above the banks
and caressed that lovely tree
But that was before he loved her,
and threw me to the sea.
Oh sweet and sav’ry betrayal,
Why have you dropped by?
I felt my heart split in two
When we said goodbye.
A lyrical wind of stormy clouds
Burst through the walls.
The Canopy’s Crown has fallen down,
My tears have drowned his calls.

Dedicated to my friend Brielle, who just suffered a major betrayal.
