Something in his Eyes
I promised myself I would never write a love song
but that promise I could not keep true
as much as it pains me to say this
I broke my promise because of you
You weren't my first love
but something about your eyes
something about how you smiled at me
well, to be honest, it drove me wild
When I talked, you actually listened
when you laughed; I laughed too
trying not to blush by looking away
maybe you like me too?
But then, everything changed
you grew older, but I stayed the same
we stand face to face for the very last time
I want to say 'I love you' but all I say is 'goodbye'
You turn your back and walk away
And I start to cry because of what I wanted to say
Time is short, love is long
But I waited until my love was gone
