Perfection
In a perfect world
lives would have been saved.
In a perfect world,
my mind would be clear,
without death engraved.
Maybe I would be laughing, sprinting,
chasing after the unknown.
But sadly, here I am,
sitting idly forever alone.
In a perfect world,
blood wouldn't stain our soil.
In a perfect world, maybe I would
have stayed loyal.
But there is no such thing as a perfect world.
I realize this when reality seeps through.
Everyday, every hour, every minute,
I witness what cruelty others must endure.
I am simply a fallen angel, or was one before you burned me.
Now I know I'm easily changeable.
You buried me deep, I was under tight lock and key.
Perhaps in a perfect world, I would have been set free.
