The Stars Are Smiling @ You Kids
It's cramped on this curb
The names of the streets sparkle like wine
The corner of longing and reality
I want you to come with me
Dance without the use of guns
Empty barrels will turn black gold
Who could tell me I'm wrong?
A void they call it
I call it shallow minds
A mind is like a cup
Take my hand and I'll fill yours up
We'll bring to our lips the wetness
That lies in bitter drinks filled with waste
We'll make the night ours and own these streets
You tell me you don't know me
But I can feel your heart pounding as I breathe
You smile as I lose my balance
But I won't stop tugging you along
There's grime on our feet
But the music we hear is loud
It told us to run-and we listened
Our wants are equal
Our hearts are young
And this city beckons
I'm choking on your words
And you're reacting to my touch
'What do I want?' you ask me
I want the music to call on love
And stumble down boulevards as you pick me up
I want you to kiss me as the subway screams
Carrying the kids who've lost their dreams
Don't make us them
Tonight is our chance
"And this city beckons", I say-
Oh, once more Love.
