Dark Knight
Dark Knight
The keeper of my heart
My protector from my fears
Your touch is so soft
Your voice is the only melody I long to hear
It's been so long since I've seen your face
Looked into your beaming green eyes
But your portrait is still vivid to me
I see it every time I close my eyes
Dark Knight
The savior of my soul
You kept all harm away from me
If only I had done the same for you
At thirteen
I was so stupid and naive
The hurt that I had put you through
Is unimaginable to me
I toyed with your emotions
Left you cold and alone
You had done nothing to harm me
And I wasn't waiting to see if you'd do so
But by reminiscing about the hurt in your eyes
Lets me feel a small fraction of your pain
Makes me long to put my hand on your heart
And somehow make it go away
So my Dark Knight,
It seems we will be parting our ways
I know they'll intersect again
Somewhere, sometime, someday
