I am a Person

I am a person
I wonder what others mutter under their breaths
I hear nothing but think everything
I see confusion, frowns, and smiles
I want peace among everyone
I am a person
I pretend not to care but
I feel strongly about the situation
I touch the air thinking about others
I worry that something will happen
I cry thinking about the possibilities
I am a person and
I understand that most of this won’t happen
I say it will happen but
I dream it won’t
I try to understand reality
I hope I will change but
I am a person.
