Lost Love
You are the king on the throne of gold
the sharp blade and the strong shield
You are the burning fire of vengeance
and the warm fondness of the soft embers.
You are the fierce warrior from tales of old
and the guardian of a magical stone in the mountain
However, you are not a prince in a fairy tale,
the love that was never there,
or the loyalty of true love.
And you are certainly not the silver coin amidst the gold.
It is possible that you are the worm underneath the earth,
maybe even the devil amongst the men,
but you are far from
being a gentle and beautiful thornless red rose at dawn.
A quick look in your reflection will show
that you are neither the ruby in the glowing fire
nor the amber capturing memorable moments in time.
It might interest you to know,
speaking of infinite moments trapped in time,
My warm tears endlessly fall to form the lonely desolate lagoon.
My lament lonely song lulls the forest to sleep,
the skies to darken and hide the warmth of the sun,
and the cold sleeting rain to fall on the tender ground ceaselessly.
My love is the fading star in the night sky
and the small flaming candle in the harsh wind.
But don't worry, you won't even miss me when I'm gone.
You are still the king on the throne of gold.
You will always be the king on the throne of gold,
as well as the sharp blade and - strangely-
the strong shield.
