The rain splatters the sidewalk
the sky is speckled gray
My hood is pulled up to keep
the bad vibes out
The wind pushes it back
so I am exposed
The drops zoom in
and the stinging begins
water created from shallow hopes and dreams fills the air
I sigh and pray for better days
