not to ruin your angst
You said Blue Eyes, New Skies
And though you wished it to be true
under cold-shoulder guise
there were none in realistic view
I pushed, you pressed, we shoved
at each other’s will and patience
testing waters unloved
acting the other’s acquaintance
neglecting cries for affection
that were once well known
and even the slightest inflection
of one another’s tone
when I saw your face tearful
it was then that I knew
though I had been fearful
it would always be you
and though your lyrics went
for blue eyes and new skies
I knew that you meant
Our Eyes Clear Skies
