Perfect
It's a moment
When a simple touch, word, thought
Seemingly slight
Exposes a break
A tear, a scratch, a scar
I stumble, watching your confidence shake
And I think maybe,
You're not perfect.
It's a place
Where we try to find those right, true words
To clean up this mess
Display any purpose
Amidst this shattered glass
Of your once so glossy, unscathed surface
And I think maybe,
You're not perfect.
It's a time
When your eyes aren't as clear
Unsure, searching and scared
Trying to hide this rawness shown
Conceal and cover this unintentional truth
But'don't
Because now I know
We're not perfect.
