Invincible
You held me close when I couldn't stop shaking
you kept me alive when I gently slept
but, when I was with you
who were you thinking of?
You put your head on my shoulder when I needed a smile
I put mine on yours when you were hiding the pain
but, everything you said, everything you did
it meant nothing to you
When I was with you, you only wanted me vulnerable
to fool me into false love
when I was with you; you acted like you were invincible
so you could leave me all on my own
When you looked into my eyes, you were never looking at me
you were seeing into her heart
when you said you cared about me, it was all a cunning lie
you left me all on my own
Now when I see you, holding her like you held me
it hurts, but I'm moving on
maybe I can learn from you, to never be vulnerable
maybe I can learn from you, to be invincible
