My Lover, My Friend
What is it you see when you look in the mirror?
The friend I believe in,
The fool they hate,
Or the misfit?
All those dreams and all those memories,
Were they all lies?
Our promises and hopes,
Do they mean so little to you?
Days pass into night and nights into days,
Yet here I remain by your side.
You who hold high meaning to me,
You who have my trust and loyalty,
So why haven’t you woken up?
The chilling rain reflects my heart,
The whispering wind whispers my fading belief,
Long gone the trouble but now I am lost within,
Without you to help me smile.
And so I ask please awaken!
I don’t know how much longer it is until I drown.
