Love Me Once
I loved and lost, lost and loved you.
No turning back time,
When your love thrived and hate died,
Where the gentle moon was radiant in the calming night.
Here I stand and here alone,
My blessed freedom forever taken,
Bitter and frozen heart, in pieces far from your reach.
Protected by thickened memories,
Forgiving your lies and sins,
Surrendering the fears and dreams,
But alas your reign, ended in a small loss.
Winters ended and now let spring begin,
Forgiven but unforgotten,
Not a fool no longer
Goodbye my friend, I your love,
Alone I walk blind, alone through promising rainy nights.
