Blue Mountain Lake
The lake is still as sun now sets
A windy day now calm
The sky is painted red and blue
The stars will ease all qualm
They wander into houses lit
And shelter from the cold
A fire in the fireplace
A movie never old
The night is full with piercing sounds
Loons cry their sad lament
A chipmunk rustles in the grass
Yet sleep is not torment
They dream of summer days gone by
The years of endless fun
They´ll wake to smells of burning wood
Another day to run
In early morning fog rolls in
Before they all awake
When light pours over mountains green
The fog burns off the lake
Their eyes now open to the sun
The breeze picks up once more
A cup of coffee on the deck
They could not wish for more.
