When You Look In The Mirror
When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
A pretty face but shallow beauty?
Or a smile that says, this is me?
I know who I am and who I want to be.
When you look in the mirror, how do you feel?
Like you stare in those eyes and see you’re not real?
Or like you know that what inside’s the real deal?
And not the reflection, the poise it steals,
When you look in the mirror, how do you act?
Like you’re best, though it’s not true fact?
Or know the best way to react,
And that character is one thing not to lack?
When you look in the mirror, what do you hear?
That insecure voice in your ear?
Or the confidence you never fear,
That influence to help you steer?
When you look in the mirror, most importantly,
Do you feel that your true self is free?
