A depressing look at life turned to

A view full of endless possibilities and positivity.

Dull songs turned

Vibrant and colorful.

Poems full of incredible sadness turned to

Sweet words gushing honey from my lips.

Hair in a high ponytail turned to

Neatly combed curly hair let free.

Trying to flee the county turned to

Becoming frightened to leave everything for college.

Hopes and dreams being crushed turned to

Realizing that it wasn’t meant for me.

No jewelry turned to 

Many rings, and bracelets; made with love.

Always staying inside turned to 

Becoming a camp counselor for all of June.

Being in no after-school activities turned to

Volleyball, FFA, Archery, Student Council; and even President of my own club.

Reading manga books turned to 

Books full of poetry from the heart.

Petrified of public speaking turned to 

My favorite competition in FFA.

My life has changed, yes it has, 

But one thing is for sure: I’m still me.

Love Minecraft; 

Just like I did before.

Love writing poems;

Just like I did before.

Love animals;

Just like I did before.

Love musicals;

Just like I did before.

Even though things have changed,

I still am the same girl as before.

Just taller, and wiser too;

I didn’t see it then, but I grew.
