Fallen Angels
So tell me a story,
Of Night blacker than shadow,
Where the stars are unseen,
because the moon never rises.
A night that goes on,
Nocturnal beasts waking,
The world cast in Darkness,
Black Shadows uprising.
A whisper, a call,
All ears hearken to,
A beast, then a man,
Legends come true.
From man to angel,
Wings painted in blood.
Tears fall from his eyes,
A torrential flood.
Up through the trees,
The limbs fiercely tearing,
Ripping his wings,
His hope is now wearing,
Raggedly bleeding,
He aims for the sky,
Meant to soar,
He can no longer fly.
He falls back to earth,
His strength finally fails.
He lays there unmoving,
The sky slowly pales.
The day now comes back,
The angel is gone,
Left as a beast,
In the light of the Dawn.
