There Simply Need Be No End
From the moment we open our eyes, we are
taught there will be an end. We are told that
nothing can be real or complete if it lasts.
Why?
We are told that all winds have a break
in them, and sound will cease. We are taught
that a candle will flicker to a halt leaving a red wick
behind and that a beautiful smell will eventually escape us.
Why?
We are told that the only thing final enough to stop beautiful life is death. Is this why whenever the glory of Earth presents itself, I am left but craving the hollow appeal of mortality? We are told that something unimaginably precious, or happy, or grand must be destroyed at some time or another. Is this why every time I feel joyous, it is echoed pointedly by rage?
We are told that anything that makes you cry will make
you laugh later. We are told that anyone who inspires
you will come to only judge you.
But nay, I say there need be no end. I say there need be no hot sun after the snow, there need be no exhale after the in. I say there need be no part after the meet and no goodbye and so long. There need be no death, nor rage, nor judgment nor emptiness.
I say to you, and all who wish to hear, there simply need be no end.
