Platonic
Like slaves, we watch them dance
for it's all we've ever known.
Blind to the true world;
To the beauties unknown
Like slaves, we're fixated
On what's set in stone
But festering away within that
Lie the horrors unknown
Like slaves, we must break free
and pierce through the smile.
Only when that's done
may you love, a short while
The ridicule is certain
for seeing past the skin
like a slave, break free;
Love what's within.
