Growing Pains
Why are we all running?
When we have no place to go?
We all pretend to be humming
When we don’t even know the song
Musicians have guitars to hold on to
Mothers have children to love
We all wish for a drive thru
In what we see above
Can’t we all just hold on to our tears?
Gather the pieces we misplaced
Triumph over evil and bad
Be the brave ones who faced
Why are we all running?
When we have no place to sleep
We all pretend to be humming
When we have no tune to keep
The skies see out problems
But they can’t wash it away
We need to fix our own motors
So we can drive our lives again
The streets are filled with torn dreams
Our hearts are all open windows
We all need to close the gap
That we opened centuries ago
Why are all running?
When we have no place to call home
We all pretend to humming
A melody that we don’t know
Can’t we all just accept one another?
And the group everyone envies
Let’s stop inferno with ice-cold-water
And start making memories
Growing up is tough
When doing it alone
So clean yourself of hatred
And sing a song with happy tone
