The Middle Ground
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood"?
but I wondered-why couldn't there be a third?
now you may be saying-isn't that a little absurd?
But where that road should have been is where I stood-
Wishing, hoping, dreaming for a third,
Yet I stood so quite you heard the coo of a bird,
It seemed as if I though I could change that roads ware,
As if I thought I could defy the crossroads that stood there.
Why can't there be a middle ground-
where everyone is pleased-
where none shall make a pleading sound-
and none fall to their knees?
But I realized standing there-
that if there were such a road we all would take it,
To that what would be the result?
an overrun road and an unknown fault.
For without the tough decisions of life,
we would not face through all this strife-
This strife, that does but test and make us stronger,
for the road ahead which shall be much much longer.
