The Hopes all Gone
We have fought
Day in and day out
But I just kind of thought
That you could go without
Without hurting me
With all of your words
You won’t let me be
You won’t let me out to see the birds
I once loved your eyes
With all the blues
Dark as the night skies
And it’s many hues
Your brown hair
It made me smile
And those soft whispers
That made my stay worth while
The shape of your body
Did make me ache
Every one said I had the hottie
That they wanted to take
Now they can have you
Because you make me bleed
They don’t see who
Took everything from me when I was in need
The hope that I had for us is all gone
And I know you think it will work
But your deed is done
And you still wear a painful smirk
So I am left with a huge bruise
And you are left with all of the other women
Who go with you as you and your buddies cruise
Right down the path to where your secrets are hidden
The hopes all gone
And through it all I love you
But now that the pain is done
I won’t look back into those baby blues
